A Trading Course Completion Project Without a Live Account
Create an inspectable learning artifact instead of treating a winning trade as a graduation test.
Choose one measurable educational task
The project can explain an instrument, compare two order types or turn a public rule description into an observation checklist. Keep the task small enough that its correctness can be inspected. State the starting knowledge and what the final artifact must contain. Avoid an objective such as proving the strategy works with a handful of simulated winners.
Collect the original sources, definitions and assumptions before producing the answer. Distinguish official mechanisms from your own interpretation. If a required source is absent, that limitation belongs in the artifact. A project is stronger when another reader can find the same evidence and understand the same boundary.
Use a labelled synthetic case
Our example asks whether a fictional message establishes a guaranteed fill. The learner identifies the instruction, available quote, order type and missing account evidence. The invented numbers illustrate a reasoning task; they are not a named provider's trade or a measured return. No live order is needed to explain why a desired price and assured execution are different.
Keep the initial answer, its rubric review and a corrected answer. Do not overwrite the first attempt. A later fresh case tests whether the learner can transfer the distinction without copying a model answer. A clean-looking final submission does not reveal learning unless its original reasoning and changes remain inspectable.
Evaluate the artifact, not the account
The rubric asks for source identity, unit consistency, original-versus-assumed facts and a bounded conclusion. Self-assessment states are missing, revision needed, evidence supplied and independently explained. They organise the learner's claim; they do not certify mastery or provide a validated qualification score.
A completed project can expose a specific next prerequisite or an uncertainty requiring feedback. It cannot establish trading suitability, profitability or a causal benefit from tuition. The example and blank template are free, explicitly educational and do not connect an account.
