A Futures Learning Path Built Around Contract Identity

Read specifications and distinguish price movement, notional value, margin and expiry.

12 October 2026 / public curricula and original study procedures

Begin with the selected contract

The first artifact is a contract-identity sheet with the official source, symbol convention, relevant units and expiry/settlement description. A continuous chart label is not necessarily an individual contract identity. Leave a field unknown when the chosen source does not establish it.

The CME Introduction to Futures syllabus supplies a coherent topic map for this task. Our proposed assignment asks the learner to explain why the fields matter, not merely copy a specification table. No course attendance, marked result or executable account setup is implied by a public syllabus.

Keep the money concepts distinct

Price units, tick movements, notional value and margin describe different objects. A learner should explain their relationships without equating margin with the maximum loss. Use fictional quantities for the learning exercise and record the selected specification before doing any arithmetic.

Expiry and settlement can change the meaning of an instrument over time. A dated specification and a clearly identified contract are prerequisites for a serious exercise. This site does not create broker-fill claims from continuous-series research references or advise a live contract selection.

Complete a non-live evidence task

Given a fresh contract specification, identify the relevant fields and state which additional account information would be required for execution. Keep the source and your initial attempt. A correct unit explanation can demonstrate a learning task without requiring a simulated performance table.

The path is an editorial sequence, not an accredited programme or a promise of profitability. Public mechanism sources and learner-defined exercises remain separate. Choose additional education only when it closes a named gap under confirmed access conditions.
